A downloadable game for Windows

"The Wallow" is a cute mini game about a real place on the Riverfield Country Day School campus. It teaches kids about nature, where things live, where things go, how they react with each other at the wallow. It originally started as a simple class project but quickly turned into a 2 week passion project.

Most of the artwork, sounds and voices were created by the children of Sky Class with the help of Cory Williams, an Unreal Engine Technical Artist and father to one of the students.

Leave a comment below and let us know what you think of the game!  I'll be sure to forward to positive feedback to the class.

CONTROLS:

W,A,S,D for walking

SPACE to jump

MOVE MOUSE to look around

ESCAPE for pause menu / options / exit game

Hand held gaming controllers work best for young kiddos.  You can find cheap PC game controllers on Amazon.  I personally bought an MSI Force GC30V2 for my kids to use.  It works wirelessly and it's been great.

GRAPHICS TIP:

If you have an older computer that's struggling to play the game, try hitting ESCAPE and selecting Windowed mode, then set the resolution to 1280 x 720.  Now simply choose which level of graphic quality works best for your computer.  Most should be able to play it.

MAC USERS:

I don't have a build for OSX just yet but if or when I do, I'll provide an update.

Install instructions

You may be asked to install the latest version of Visual C++ script.  It's totally safe and normal to do if you don't have it already.  This is just what allows your computer to read the code necessary to play the game and to be able to save your selected screen settings.  You may also need to update your graphics card drivers if you don't play games often.

I love this!  The game is fun to play and is a beautiful representation of the Wallow.  The student art work and voices encouraged me to keep exploring.  Thank you Sky Class and Mr. Williams for sharing your joy in caring for the Wallow.
